Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has launched its latest budget-friendly 5G smartphone, the Redmi A4 5G, in India. This affordable handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor and boasts a 6.88-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G: Price in India and availability
The Redmi A4 5G is priced competitively in India, starting at Rs 8,499 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. The top-tier 4GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs 9,499. The phone comes in two colour options: Starry Black and Sparkle Purple.
Starting November 27, the Redmi A4 5G will be available for purchase via Xiaomi’s official website, Amazon, Xiaomi retail stores, and partner outlets across the country.
Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G: Specifications and features
The Redmi A4 5G comes equipped with a 6.88-inch HD+ display offering a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming. It also includes TUV Low Blue Light, Circadian, and Flicker-Free certifications to ensure visual comfort.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 5G processor, marking it as India’s first smartphone to feature this chipset. Paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, the device supports seamless multitasking and fast app loading. It also offers 8GB of virtual RAM for enhanced performance.

The Redmi A4 5G runs on Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS and promises two years of guaranteed Android updates and four years of security patches. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For photography, the Redmi A4 5G features a dual-rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor. The camera is loaded with features like time-lapse, portrait mode, 10x zoom, and film-style effects. For selfies and video calls, the phone sports a 5MP front camera.
The device packs a 5160mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. Xiaomi includes a 33W charger in the box for added convenience.
