After leaks hinting at the launch and price, Redmi has officially launched the Redmi 9 Power with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at Rs 12,999. The Redmi 9 Power (review) with 4GB RAM and the option of 64 or 128GB storage launched back in December 2020. The rest of the specifications of all three variants will remain the same.
The Redmi 9 Power sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a waterdrop notch cutout for the selfie camera. The screen is protected with Gorilla Glass 3. It measures 9.6 millimetres and weighs 198 grams, and has a plastic built.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 610 GPU. The smartphone will now be available in two RAM options – 4GB and 6GB. The 4GB RAM variant will have the option of 64GB (UFS 2.1) storage or 128GB (UFS 2.2) storage. The 6GB RAM variant will come with 128GB (UFS 2.2) storage. The Redmi 9 Power also offers storage expansion via microSD card for up to 512GB. It runs on MIUI 12 that is based on Android 10.
It has a quad-camera setup on the back with a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera housed within the waterdrop notch.
The Redmi 9 Power has stereo speakers along with a side-mounted fingerprint reader. It sports a 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.
The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs 10,499 while the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 11,999. The new 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at Rs 12,999. The smartphone is available in Mighty Black, Blazing Blue, Fiery Red and Electric Green colour options.
