Realme 9i has officially launched in India kickstarting Realme’s 2022 launch cycle. The Realme 9i directly succeeds the Realme 8i which launched in the second half of 2021 in India. Realme 9i first debuted in Vietnam last week and has finally arrived in India. The Realme 9i has a plastic build since it's aimed at an affordable price point and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. The Realme 9i is priced starting at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant and Rs 15,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant. The Realme 9i goes on early sale from January 22 on Flipkart and Realme.com and will go on open sale from January 25 onwards.
The Realme 9i features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ (2412×1080 pixels) resolution display that offers upto a 90Hz refresh rate and is topped with a layer of Dragontrail Pro Glass for added protection. It also has a punch-hole notch cutout in the top-left corner for the 16MP selfie camera.
Since it is an affordable phone, it's made from plastic having a thickness of 8.4mm and weighs 190 grams. It is being offered in two colours: Prism Black and Prism Blue.
The Realme 9i is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset that has an octa-core CPU and Adreno 610 GPU. This is paired with 4GB/6GB RAM along with a 64GB/128GB storage variant. It runs on Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0.
As for the cameras, the Realme 9i has a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear cameras can record in 1080p at 30FPS and do not have EIS support.
There are stereo speakers onboard the Realme 9i with the power button doubling up as a fingerprint reader. The 9i comes equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. Realme claims that the 9i takes 70 minutes to fully charge from 0-100%.
