Realme launched its latest mid-range smartphone on January 29. This is the Realme 12 Pro Plus, which came out with a new and stylish design and an upgraded camera. In this article, I will compare this smartphone with the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus also launched last month. Both smartphones have been launched in India around ₹30,000. So, let’s compare these latest mid-range smartphones and then tell me which one you will buy.
Realme 12 Pro Plus VS Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: Design
Both come with new and refined designs compared to their predecessors. The Realme 12 Pro Plus launched in three colours; Submarine Blue, Explorer Red, and Navigator Beige. Now what’s really cool about this smartphone? Well, the design sits on top. Realme has collaborated with the famous luxury watchmaker Ollivier Savéo. He helped Realme design the back of this smartphone. You get a premium vegan leather back and a beautiful circular camera module that looks like a watch analog. It is 8.5mm thick, weighs 195 grams, and features an IP65 rating against dust and water.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus also features a vegan leather back and comes in three colours; Fusion Black, Fusion Purple, and Fusion White. The Black and White variants have a solid coloured back panel, however, the fusion purple has a little different back. The back features three hues; purple, green, and blue with a white tone. The upper part of the back has three blocks that separate cameras, an LED flash, and the Redmi branding. It measures 199 grams in weight and is 8.9 mm thick. The Note 13 Pro Plus has an IP68 rating, which is better than the IP65.

Realme 12 Pro Plus VS Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: Display
You get a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with the Realme 12 Pro Plus. This display has 10-bit colour, 120Hz refresh rate support, and 950 nits of peak brightness. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus packs a better display. It has a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display that supports 68 billion colours, a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ as well. It has 1800 nits of peak brightness and is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Realme 12 Pro Plus VS Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: Performance
The Realme 12 Pro Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Furthermore, it runs on the latest Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 operating system.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC. Xiaomi offers the smartphone in three storage variants; 8GB 256GB, 12GB 256GB, and 12GB 512GB. Unfortunately, this smartphone runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. However, the Chinese brand will offer the Android 14-based HyperOS for this smartphone soon.
Realme 12 Pro Plus VS Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: Camera
The camera of the Realme 12 Pro Plus is the second USP of this smartphone and the brand is calling it “The Portrait Master.” What makes it really good? There is a triple camera setup on the back, holding a 50-megapixel primary camera with PDAF and OIS support, a 64-megapixel Periscope Telephoto sensor with up to 3x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel Ultrawide lens. On the front, you get a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
In the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, there is also a triple camera setup consisting of a 200-megapixel main camera with PDAF and OIS support, an 8-megapixel Ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel Macro lens. For selfies, there is a 16-megapixel camera at the front.

Realme 12 Pro Plus VS Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: Battery
There is no competition in the battery capacity as both smartphones pack the same 5000mAh battery. However, there is one thing here that makes the Note 13 Pro Plus stand out, and this is the fast charging. The Realme 12 Pro Plus supports 67-watt fast charging, whereas, the Note 13 Pro Plus has 120-watt fast charging support.
