Realme recently unveiled its flagship GT 5 Pro smartphone in China and seems to be shifting focus towards the upcoming Realme 12 series. Although specifics about the series remain limited, the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ smartphone models have been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Additionally, speculation suggests that a vanilla Realme 12 model is also in development.
On the BIS certification platform, the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ handsets carry the model numbers “RMX3842” and “RMX3840” respectively, reports Gizmochina.

Unfortunately, the BIS listings don’t reveal anything else about the devices.

Previous rumours suggest that the Realme 12 series is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
The Realme 12 Pro Plus handset will likely be equipped with a 64MP OmniVision OV64B Periscope Telephoto sensor. This would give the smartphone up to 3x optical zoom capabilities. On the other hand, the Realme 12 Pro smartphone is expected to feature a Sony IMX709 sensor with 2x optical zoom
The standard Realme 12 smartphone model is anticipated to launch in China at a price of CNY 2000, which is approximately ₹23,000. However, its predecessor, the Realme 11 launched in India at a starting price of ₹18,999. Speaking of the Pro variants, the Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 Pro+ models debuted in India at a price of ₹23,999 and ₹27,999.
Further details regarding the forthcoming Realme 12 series are anticipated to surface in the following days. Following the launch of the Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone, it is likely that the Realme 12 series might be unveiled by the end of this month.
