Earlier today, launch images of Oppo R9 and R9 Plus were leaked online, giving us a look at the design and expected prices. Both the R9 and R9 Plus smartphones are expected to succeed the R7 and R7 Plus, which Oppo had launched some time back. Both the phones are expected to feature the latest VOOC charging technology, Oppo's own fast charging technology. According to the leaked image, these upcoming phones will be announced on March 17 in China. The image suggests that the R9 will be priced at 2498 Yuan (Rs. 25,900 approx.) and 2998 Yuan (Rs. 31,100 approx). Also, there might be a 128GB version of the R9 Plus, priced at 3298 Yuan (Rs. 34,200 approx).
The images also reveal that both the R9 and R9 Plus smartphones will offer 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The bigger R9 Plus smartphone may house a 4120mAh battery. Rumours suggest that the R9 Plus will have a 6-inch AMOLED display and could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC, along with a 16MP rear camera. On the other hand, the Oppo R9 may house a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, and be powered by the MediaTek Helio X10. A 13MP rear camera is expected to be present on the rear, and both the phones might house a 4MP UltraPixel camera at the front.
This image and previous rumours suggest that both phones will have a full metal unibody design, which falls in line with the current R7 lineup. Fingerprint sensors and USB-C ports are also expected on both the devices.
