The latest tool is available for devices running iOS 9 to iOS 9.0.2. This includes devices like the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPod Touch, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3, iPad Mini 4, iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Air 2. The tool is an untethered jailbreak tool, meaning you don’t have to connect your iOS device to a PC for jailbreaking it. The size of the tool is 73MB and can be downloaded from the team's website. As of now, the tool is only available for Windows PC, with a Mac version expected to release in soon.
Jailbreaking on iOS provides root access to users, which results in more control over the device. It lets you tweak things like the user interface, installing apps that are not on Apple's AppStore etc. Further, you can also install various app stores, like Cydia, that allow users access to other applications for iOS. That said, it is worth noting that while jailbreaking at iOS-powered device does allow certain benefits, it also opens your device up to data thefts. Recently, it was reported that a malware named KeyRaider had affected more than 2,25,000 jailbroken devices in more than 18 countries. The malware stole private and sensitive information from user accounts and also disabled the local as well as remote unlocking functionality of the iPhone.
