OxygenOS 3.0.2 update brings Android Marshmallow to OnePlus 2
The update is being rolled out incrementally, and should reach all devices within 48 hours.
OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 3.0.2 update for the OnePlus 2, which brings Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 to the smartphone. The company has stated in its forum that the update is being rolled out incrementally, and should reach all units within 48 hours. The update will add the usual suite of Marshmallow features such as Doze, along with system improvements and other new features.
The OxygenOS 3.0.2 update adds a new camera UI, with optimisations to the autofocus mechanism and speed. It also removes MaxxAudio and Tuner, and integrates Dirac HD Sound technology. Further, users can now pin apps in the Recents menu, while improvements to Shelf UX lets them edit the board. Network operators will now stick to the users' choice in order to avoid situations where the phone starts roaming on other networks, which may incur higher charges. OnePlus also notes that the update will clear all stored fingerprints, and users will have to re-enroll them before use.
OnePlus has been testing the OxygenOS 3.0 update for the OnePlus 2 for quite a while now. The company was reportedly soak testing the update in March 2016, and later released a beta build of the update. Those interested in the build had to manually flash their devices, but the company said that it was eligible for OTA updates, and would be updated to the final build, when launched.
