Oukitel launches the K10000 with a 10000mAh battery
HIGHLIGHTS

The Oukitel K10000 is the biggest battery we have seen so far on a smartphone, and it is priced at $239.99 (Rs. 16,000 approx.)

The smartphone's battery technology is not evolving as rapidly as the typical usage of a smartphone, which has changed rapidly of late. Hence, to meet the usage requirement of smartphone users, manufacturers are fitting bigger batteries in the phones. Chinese phone-maker Oukitel has trumped them all. The new Oukitel K10000 comes with a mammoth 10000mAh battery, making it the first smartphone to offer such a large battery.

The Oukitel K10000 currently holds the title for the biggest battery pack ever in a smartphone. The phone was earlier leaked in June when it was still under development. It has a 5.5-inch 720p IPS LCD display, a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC (which features on many budget phones including the Meizu M2), 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, which can be further expanded, as the phone offers support for microSD cards. It has an 8MP camera on the rear, and there is a 2MP front-facing camera as well. The Oukitel K10000 supports dual SIM cards, and 4G connectivity. Even with the massive battery inside, the phone is not that thick, at a width of 9mm.

Recently, Gionee announced the Marathon M5, which has a 6020mAh battery. The Marathon M5 has a similar spec sheet, offering a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. It is also powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 SoC, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. On top of that, the phone supports microSD cards of upto 64GB. It features a 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone runs on Android v5.1, and Gionee claims almost 60 hours of battery life. Going just by the size of battery on the Oukitel K10000, it is likely to have a better battery life. Here is a quick run down of the specs:
