The key details about Oppo Reno 9 has surfaced online via Chinese microblogging website Weibo (thanks to Digital Chat Station). Well, even some pictures of its retail package have appeared. However while the images don't reveal much, the source has also leaked some specifications of the upcoming smartphone. So, let’s have a look at what we know about the upcoming Reno smartphone.
As seen in an image shared by Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Reno 9 seems to come in a rectangular box, which is white in colour. On the box, we can see Reno's branding and the moniker '9' printed towards the bottom right corner. Although the images do not reveal anything about the smartphone's design, the slim box indicates that the smartphone could come without a charger in the box; however, it's just a conjecture at the moment. The image only reveals the front side of the device's retail box, hiding any details that could be present on the backside.
In the past, the rumour mill has also churned out information related to the Oppo Reno 9 series' specifications. Although there could be multiple smartphones in the series, they are expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8000 or the Snapdragon 778G chipsets. Most likely, the vanilla Reno 9 could run on the less powerful yet capable Snapdragon 778G and the Reno 9 Pro may rely upon the Dimensity 8000 chipset. The Oppo Reno 9 Series could also be the first smartphones to comply to the Universal Fast Charging Specifications (UFSC).
The Reno 9 is also expected to ship with a 64MP primary camera, while the Reno 9 Pro could come with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. Additionally, Oppo may equip both smartphones with an AMOLED panel, possibly with a higher refresh rate on the Pro model. Last but not least, leaks also mention that either of the smartphones could come with a 5,000 mAh battery. Finally, the devices could launch in India later this month or earlier next month.
