The entry-level Oppo Reno 5 comes with a flat display, while the Pro variant has a curved display.

The price starts at CNY 2,699 (Roughly Rs 30,400).

Oppo has officially unveiled the Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro in China with the base variant starting at CNY 2,600 (Roughly Rs 30,400 directly converted). The phones come with 65W fast charging support. During the event, the company also teased the Oppo Reno 5 Pro +, with only limited details about the top tier phone in the line-up. 

Oppo has also teased the launch of the Reno 5 series in India. The company's Vice President and India R&D head, Tasleem Arif posted a tweet hinting at the launch of the Reno 5 series in India. Do note however, that there is no word on the exact date of launch yet and with the year coming to an end, it is likely we may see the new phones in the Reno series arrive in early January in India.

Oppo Reno 5 and Oppo Reno 5 Pro Price and Launch

All the phones in the Reno 5 series come with 5G out of the box. The base variant Oppo Reno 5 comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage starting at CNY 2,699 (Roughly Rs 30,400 directly converted). The 12GB RAM and 256GB variant comes at a price tag of CNY 2,999 (Roughly Rs 33,800 directly converted). The Reno 5 comes in three different colour options namely – Aurora Blue, Moonlight Night, and Starry Night.

The Reno 5 Pro starts at a price of CNY 3,399 (Roughly Rs 38,300 directly converted) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage comes at CNY 3,799 (Roughly Rs 42,800 directly converted) and comes in the same colour options – Aurora Blue, Moonlight Night, and Starry Night. The sale will start on 18 December and the devices are available for pre-orders in China from today. As for an international release date for the phones, there is no official word yet. 

Oppo Reno 5 Specs:

The Oppo Reno 5 comes with a flat 6.43-inch screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 overlaying it. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 765G SoC with up to 12GB RAM and storage options upto 256GB which is not expandable. The phone comes with a quad-rear camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP Macro lens and, a 2MP mono portrait lens. At the front, it comes with a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and videos.

The phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security and a 4,300mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. For connectivity, it comes with dual-sim support, 5G and LTE bands, Bluetooth 5.1, 3.5mm jack, and a Type-C port for charging. The phone weighs 172gms.

Oppo Reno 5 Pro Specs:

The Oppo Reno 5 Pro has a 6.55-inch screen with an FHD+ OLED curved display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 and a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC paired with 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.1 storage that is further expandable via a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 overlaying it. The phone comes with a quad-camera with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with 119-degree FoV, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP mono portrait lens. For selfies, this comes with a 32MP snapper at the front.

This phone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,350mAh battery with 65W fast charging. For connectivity, it has dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, headphone jack, and USB Type-C. The phone comes with 5G and LTE support out of the box.

Oppo Reno 5 Pro + Specs:

This phone did not launch alongside the Oppo Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro, but the company teased its design and specs. The rear of the phone comes with a quad-camera setup including a 50MP primary camera, 16MP ultra-wide sensor, 13MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP macro lens. It comes with a Snapdragon 865 SoC and will carry the same 65W fast charging. The device is touted to be available from 24 December.
