Oppo is gearing up to launch its new mid-range smartphone series in India. This is the Oppo Reno 12 5G series, which could include the standard Reno 12 5G and the Reno 12 Pro 5G. Oppo has been teasing the smartphone series for a while now, highlighting its AI features. Moreover, this smartphone series is already available in the Chinese and global markets. In a recent development, the Indian launch date of the Oppo Reno 12 series surfaced on the internet. Let me tell you about it.
Oppo Reno 12 5G series tipped launch date
According to a report by TheTechOutlook, Oppo could drop the new phones on July 12. Apart from the launch date, the report also hinted at the storage capacities of the devices. The Oppo Reno 12 5G might launch with a single storage option; 8GB 126GB. On the other hand, we might see two storage variants of the Reno 12 Pro 5G; 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB.
Apart from these leaks, Oppo also showcased its AI features a few days ago. These include AI Best Face, AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, and AI Clear Face, AI Summary, AI Record Summary, AI Clear Voice, AI Writer, and AI Speak. Yes, it seems quite high on AI, and why wouldn’t it be? After all, AI is the new trend.

As I mentioned above, the lineup is already available in the global markets, so let’s talk about them. Both smartphones also run on the MediaTek Dimensity 7200-Energy processor. Even the displays are exactly the same. They have 6.7-inch AMOLED displays that support a 120Hz refresh rate. For photography, both smartphones feature a 50-megapixel main camera. Along with that, the Reno 12 5G has an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The Reno 12 Pro 5G has a 50-megapixel Telephoto sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. Lastly, both phones are also packed with a 5000mAh battery with 80-watt fast charging support.
These are the global variants of the Oppo Reno 12 series and it is expected that the same will come to India.
