Highlights:
Oppo F9 Pro has received a Rs 2,000 price cut and is now available for Rs 19,990 on select e-tailers like Amazon India and paytm mall. However, Flipkart is still selling the phone for Rs 21,990. The phone was launched in August last year with just one variant, that is, with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Amazon has also bundled several offers with the phone and users also have an option to buy the phone without any offer.
The Oppo F9 Pro sports a 6.3-inch display that offers a 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio owing to a ‘Waterdrop’ notch design. The design of the F9 Pro is unique in the way its back panel is coloured. The phone features a “whole gradient design” which it achieves using Gradient Spraying Technology to create a fusion of different colors and offer gradient color matching options to users.
A fingerprint sensor is included at the back of the phone, below the dual-camera setup which consists of 16MP+2MP lenses. The main camera uses an aperture of f/1.8, and the assistant camera uses an aperture of f/2.4. The front camera is located in the notch on the display and features a single 25MP sensor. The F9 Pro also comes with Google Lens integration, which allows users to scan objects, text, scenes and location using the camera of the smartphone.
The Oppo F9 Pro is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 chipset, coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is expandable to 256GB. The phone runs ColorOS 5.2, based on Android 8.1 and houses a 3,500mAh battery. It comes with an AI battery management system to prevent drain, and a features Oppo’s VOOC charging technology. The phone features two 4G VoLTE SIM slots and a third dedicated slot for a memory expansion.
Oppo will be making a presence at the MWC in Barcelona. It has been teasing 10x Lossless Zoom technology. Recently, the company Tweeted a video captured by the Oppo VP, Brian Shen showcasing how one will be able to use the 10x Lossless Zoom tech. It is expected to officially launch the tech on February 23. Oppo showcased its 5X optical zoom technology back in MWC 2017, however, it never made it to a smartphone.
