Oppo F3 will feature a dual front camera setup with one 120-degree lens for wide-angle selfies
Oppo is all set to announce its next selfie-centric smartphone, Oppo F3 in India tomorrow. Ahead of its official launch, the handset has leaked in the form of official renders and press materials. The leaked materials obtained by Android Pure reveal full specifications and hints at the device being priced at Rs 21,990 in India.
Oppo F3, like its sibling F3 Plus, will sport a dual front camera setup. The combination of 16MP primary front camera paired with a secondary 8MP camera capable of 120-degree wide-angle selfies will be the biggest selling point of this device. The rear camera of Oppo F3 is likely to be a 13MP sensor capable of recording 1080p videos.
The handset will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, which makes it a small-screen variant of 6-inch F3 Plus. The leaked specifications hint at the use of octa-core MediaTek MT6750T processor, coupled with Mali T860 GPU. However, the handset might arrive here with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset instead. There will be 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and support for expandable storage up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.
The Oppo F3 will run ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone is expected to sport a unibody metal design with 7.3mm thin chassis and will weigh around 153 grams. The dual-SIM handset will feature a front-mounted fingerprint sensor and support 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. The device will be backed by a 3200mAh battery as opposed to 4000mAh battery found on the F3 Plus.
The smartphone has already surfaced on benchmarking platforms like GFXBench and Geekbench ahead of the announcement. According to Canalys' recent Indian smartphone shipment numbers, Oppo has fallen back to number 5 in terms of market share. With the launch of F3, Oppo will hope to strengthen its position and also expand its offering.
