Oppo has launched its latest entry level A83 smartphone in India priced at Rs 13,990. The highlight of the device is its bezel-less display and an AI Beauty Recognition Technology, which the company claims can “intelligently recognise and bring out your best features and yet retain that distinctive charm that defines every individual.” The smartphone will go on sale via Flipkart and Amazon starting January 20 and will be available in Black and Gold colour models.
In terms of the specifications, the Oppo A83 features a 5.7-inch HD+ LCD display with a 1440 x 720p resolution. It is powered by the Octa-core MediaTek 6763T chipset and 3GB RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.
Coming to the optics, the smartphone is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture lens and an LED flash. It also comes with an 8MP front facing snapper and supports face unlock along with the aforementioned AI-based beautification mode which first debuted in the Oppo F5.

The Oppo A83 is a dual SIM smartphone runs on ColorOS 3.2 on top of Android 7.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3180 mAh battery.
