The OnePlus X Onyx edition will go on an open sale from 12:00 am, December 10 and will be available for purchase without an invite for an entire day on Amazon India. The Onyx edition of the phone is priced at Rs. 16,999.

The OnePlus X was launched in October and was available in two variants: Onyx and Ceramic. The Onyx variant comes with a glass back while the Ceramic variant is a limited edition with a backplate made of zirconia and is priced at Rs. 22,999. The phone has a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC with 3GB of RAM. At the back is a 13MP primary camera with an 8MP front camera and comes with 16GB of onboard storage which can be expanded to 128GB. The device comes with a 2525mAh battery and runs OxygenOS layered over Android Lollipop. OnePlus has also announced that the OnePlus 2 will be available without an invite from December 5 to mark the second anniversary of the company.

A few days ago, OnePlus partnered with ReGlobe to offer an exchange program for its devices. Users will have to share their contact details as well as the details of their phone in order to receive the ‘best quote’ for their device. If the quote for their device is more than Rs. 5,000, users will get the B2X Service or B2X On-Guard Plus insurance for the OnePlus 2 or OnePlus X respectively. Users can choose to buy the device first and would get an invite code for a OnePlus device and then schedule a pick-up for their own device at a later date. Once ReGlobe approves the sale of the device, the user would receive an Amazon Gift Card matching the quote of the device. If they chose to sell the device first, ReGlobe would first pick up the older device and send the invite and the Amazon Gift Card later.
