OnePlus has announced an open sale for the OnePlus 2 "sometime soon". In a post made on the company's forums, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei announced that the device will be put on open sale for an hour. Although Pei didn't write when the said sale would be, he mentioned it would take place sometime this month or early next month. Further, the OnePlus One has also been made available on Snapdeal now. Previously, it has been available for sale on Flipkart.

Pei also apologised for the delay in OnePlus 2 shipments and said that the open sale is one of the various ideas they came up to make up for the same. The company also said it will look into "production and operations to determine when this is most feasible."
The OnePlus 2 is the upgraded version of the OnePlus One, which the company launched in India last year. As is OnePlus' way, you can buy the OnePlus 2 only if you have an invite, except when it's on open sale. OnePlus had said that the it is going to have a new and improved invitation system this time. While the invite system continues, Pei acknowledged that the company has messed up the launch of the device. OnePlus is currently selling the OnePlus One on open sale, but it is too early for the company to follow a similar model with the OnePlus 2 for the long term.
Recently, the company had partnered with OlaCabs and Airtel for providing a hands-on experience of OnePlus 2 for Indian users. Both promotional offers also included opportunity for users to win the invites. The company is currently selling only the 64GB variant of the devices for Rs. 24,999 with 16GB variant expected to launch later.
OnePlus is also expected to launch a second smartphone this year. While not much is known about this smartphone, it is expected to be launched by the end of the year.
