The rumoured OnePlus 5T has seemingly been confirmed by the company now. In a tweet sent out by OnePlus yesterday, the company wrote, “Oh look, five cups of…”. Attached with that is a quote that shows five cups of what looks like “tea”. Get it? That suggests that the rumoured OnePlus device that’s expected to be launched mid-November, is indeed the OnePlus 5T.
The device is expected to have a 6 inch 18:9 display with 2160x1080p resolution. While that’s the most significant change, OnePlus should be keeping other hardware choices intact. So, the phone should be running on the Snapdragon 835 chipset, along with 6/8GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage. It should have a 3300 mAh battery and sport the same 20MP+16MP dual-camera setup on the back.

While there’s no confirmation on this, some reports do say that the phone will have Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The phone should retain the 3.5 mm headphone jack as well.
OnePlus is expected to launch the device in the upcoming weeks, updating its current smartphone, the OnePlus 5 (review). The device was launched earlier this year, taking on flagship devices for 2017. However, the market has since moved to the new Univisium and OnePlus seems to be playing catch up.
OnePlus had started off as a one phone per year company, but this is the third straight year that the company has launched a second device. While the OnePlus 5T will be an update in name, it could disappoint fans who’ve just purchased the OnePlus 5.
