OnePlus’ new teaser suggests new leather back for the OnePlus 2
The teaser suggests a leather StyleSwap back cover for the OnePlus 2, which could be priced more than the other currently available covers.
OnePlus has posted a teaser on its Google+ and Twitter accounts saying “something luxurious is coming to OnePlus. What could it be?” The image says, “A bit of welcome luxury.” Additionally, the company has given another hint in an official blog post, “the British are coming”, which could be a reference either to the song from American rock band Weezer or to a statement attributed to the famous Paul Revere.

Other details about the product aren't available yet, so we can't even be sure whether it is a smartphone or any other product. The image though points towards a leather cover for the OnePlus 2. OnePlus currently has StyleSwap covers for the OnePlus 2, selling Black Apricot, Bamboo, Rosewood, and Kevlar StyleSwap back covers priced at Rs. 1,699 each. Of course, this is simply speculation, and OnePlus hasn't confirmed anything yet. It is important to note that the company had earlier announced a second smartphone for this year, meaning that the teaser could also be of that device.
OnePlus recently apologised for the delay in shipments of the OnePlus 2. As a way of making it up for the delay, the company has decided that the OnePlus 2 will be available on open sale for an hour sometime soon. The open sale is expected to take place sometime this month or early next month. Incidentally, the company has posted an image of its warehouse on Instagram showing the arrival of a huge stock of OnePlus 2.
The OnePlus 2 is a successor to the OnePlus One and is available on Amazon India at the moment, at a price of Rs. 24,999 for the 64GB variant. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It runs on the Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB of RAM. It has a 13MP rear and 5MP front camera along with a 3,300mAh battery. The device is a pretty good buy, offering good performance for the price that the company is asking.
That said, the continued wait for invites has started frustrating users and many have complained about the same.
