OnePlus reportedly soak testing Android Marshmallow update for OnePlus 2
OnePlus is reportedly soak testing the Android Marshmallow based Oxygen 3.0 on some OnePlus 2 devices to see if any issues develop
OnePlus has reportedly started soak testing the Android Marshmallow based Oxygen 3.0 update for the OnePlus 2 smartphone. According to a report by Android Police, users who have received the update have sent screenshots of the device running the OS. The idea for a soak test is to send out an update to a small number of devices to see if any issue develops. If no such issue comes up, the update is rolled out to all units.
The screenshots in the report not only show the phone running Android Marshmallow v6.0, but also shows a wallpaper picker, an alert slider, as well as some other features. There is no information as to when the soak test will come to an end and the update will be rolled out to all OnePlus 2 devices. Back in November last year, OnePlus announced that it will update the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus One to Android Marshmallow in Q1 2016. The company did not mention when the OnePlus X would receive the update, but stated it is working hard to rollout the update soon.
