OpenPlus has taken the fight to Samsung and Vivo with the launch of its new foldable phone — the OnePlus Open Apex Edition. The new foldable phone from OnePlus is a direct rival to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. However, it is not an entirely new model and comes with basic changes over the original OnePlus Open. The smartphone maker has launched it as a tribute to Hasselblad 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition. It comes in a similar deep Red colour and looks stunning.
The OnePlus Open Apex Edition has been launched in India in a single variant with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The combination is priced at Rs 1,49,999.
The OnePlus Open comes in a new Crimson Shadow colour with a vegan leather finish. When folded it is 11.9mm thick and when unfolded it is only 5.9mm thick. The phone weighs 239 grams — as much as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
The phone has a 6.31-inch 2K AMOLED panel on the cover with up to 120 Hz refresh rate and 2800 nits of peak brightness. The main display has a 7.82-inch 2K AMOLED panel with the same 120Hz refresh rate. The main display also supports 2800 nits of peak brightness.
The OnePlus Open Apex Edition is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC which was used the original OnePlus Open. The chipset is accompanied by 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The camera system consists of a 48-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, and a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor. There is a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the cover screen and a 20-megapixel selfie shooter on the main display.
The phone packs a 4805mAh battery and supports 67W of fast charging.
