OnePlus launched its much-awaited smartphone, OnePlus Open, in India in October last year. When launched, it was made available in two colour options: Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black. Now, the company has announced that it will unveil the OnePlus Open Apex Edition in a new colourway next week.
The company has confirmed that the upcoming version of its foldable phone will be available in a new colourway, Crimson Shadow and is set to debut on August 7th.
The company also revealed that the upcoming Apex Edition will come with enhanced storage, AI image editing features, and innovative security features. OnePlus also emphasised that this edition is more than just an update; it is a clear affirmation of OnePlus’ competitive edge in the foldable space.

“With the updated OnePlus Open Apex Edition, we continue to push boundaries with enhanced features, delivering a luxurious experience that embodies our ‘Never Settle’ mantra,” said Kinder Liu, President and COO of OnePlus.
OnePlus Open Apex Edition features a vegan leather back cover that showcases a diamond-like pattern, complemented by vibrant orange accents on the Alert Slider.
While no other information about the Apex Edition has been revealed yet, let’s recap the specifications of the OnePlus Open.
The OnePlus Open sports a 6.31-inch AMOLED cover display and a 7.82-inch foldable AMOLED display. This foldable phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and packs a 4805mAh battery that supports up to 67W fast charging support.
For photography, the OnePlus Open has a triple camera setup on the back, which holds a 48MP main camera, a 64MP Telephoto sensor with up to 3x optical zoom, and a 48MP Ultrawide lens. On the cover display, there is a 32MP selfie shooter, whereas, the foldable display features a 20MP camera.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus Open in India at a starting price of ₹1,39,999.
