Buy OnePlus One without invites on Amazon India tomorrow
OnePlus has picked the date for the sale strategically, as tomorrow is also the first sale for the Xiaomi Mi4.
The much talked about OnePlus One smartphone is going to be sold without invites on Amazon tomorrow (February 10). The move is apparently a way to commemorate OnePlus finishing ten weeks since it started its business in India. The sale will start at 10am tomorrow and will follow a Xiaomi-like flash sale model. The difference though is that the sale will continue till stocks last. No invite codes would be needed to buy the device.
OnePlus has run into something of a road block in India, after the ban imposed on them because of Micromax’s lawsuit regarding the use of the CyanogenMod OS. That said, the company has been working on developing its own OS, now known as the Oxygen OS. The alpha build for the same is already available to OnePlus One users, while a new version will be made available on February 12.
While OnePlus says the Oxygen OS is ‘based’ on Google’s new Lollipop OS, the alpha build seems pretty much like a complete stock Android version. There could be changes in the final build, which many expect on February 12.
Further, while reports say OnePlus is commemorating ten weeks in India, the date for the sale has been chosen rather strategically. Tomorrow is also the day when Xiaomi sells its newly launched flagship Mi4 smartphone in India for the first time. The device had often been touted as the only competitor to the OnePlus One.
