Even as OnePlus gears up to announce its latest smartphone, rumoured as the OnePlus Two or OnePlus 2, new media reports suggests the company is going to slash the price of its OnePlus One smartphone on June 1. OnePlus will reportedly cut the price of its device by $50 (Rs. 3187 roughly).
If the price cut happens, the 64GB model will be priced at $298 (Rs. 18998.23), while the 16GB variant will available for $248 (Rs. 15810). The OnePlus One is currently available in India for Rs. 21,998 (64GB) and Rs. 18,998 (16GB). After the price cut, the OnePlus One will heat up competition with Xiaomi's Mi4 which is available for approximately Rs 17,999 (16GB). OnePlus One hasn't confirmed reports of a price cut. However, it seems highly likely as the company prepares for the new OnePlus Two smartphone, which is likely to be announced on June 1.
According to rumours, the OnePlus Two will come with 5.5-inch 2K Quad HD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC and 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Other rumoured features of the next generation OnePlus phone are integrated fingerprint scanner, 6 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera, connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, GPS and NFC support and 3300 mAh battery. The phone will run will run on Oxygen OS, OnePlus One’s new ROM based on Android Lollipop. Expected pricing of the smartphone is around Rs. 25,000.
Meanwhile, OnePlus has announced availability of OnePlus One Bamboo StyleSwap Cover on the Amazon India store.
