OnePlus now offers doorstep repair service in India
The new service is available across Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune
It will soon expand the service to all tier-1 and several tier-2 Indian cities
India is a market that thrives on customer convenience services such as doorstep delivery and pick-up. It abounds in web- and app-based package delivery services such as Dunzo and eKart. Just about anything and everything can be home-delivered these days, including groceries, medicines, and even lead-acid inverter batteries. It’s only fitting then that OnePlus should expand its customer service offerings to include doorstep repair in order to deepen its footprint in the Indian market as a premium smartphone brand.
The well-known Chinese electronics company announced earlier today that OnePlus customers would be able to avail a doorstep repair service for their handset through the OnePlus Care app that is downloadable from the Google Play Store. The new service is currently available across several Indian metros, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune. The company plans to expand the service to all tier-1 and several tier-2 cities in India by the end of the year.
According to OnePlus, customers can use the app to book a time slot that is convenient for them and expect an authorised engineer to visit their place of residence to perform handset repairs. “As an extension to this initiative, OnePlus also provides free product pick-up and drop-off service for OnePlus users seeking to resolve any issues with their product. This service is available in over 8000 pin codes, covering 80% of India,” reads the press release shared with us.
OnePlus says that it has launched the doorstep repair service to boost its brand image as one that caters to premium smartphone users. Prior to the launch, it ran the service in pilot phase for a period of six months. It isn’t clear at the moment if OnePlus will expand the service to other countries. Reports found online say OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 8 series of smartphones sometime in the middle of April. For the first time in OnePlus history, the new series should consist of not two but three models.
