After months of leaks and rumours, the OnePlus Nord 2 is finally here. The device has been launched in India as the company's latest upper mid-range offering and one that's also a definite upgrade on the original OnePlus Nord from last year.
The all-new OnePlus Nord 2 promises to be a well-rounded package as it offers powerful specifications, including Mediatek's flagship Dimensity 1200 SoC, plenty of RAM, and impressive cameras as well as a big battery with fast charging support.
The OnePlus Nord 2 has been launched in India in multiple variants, with the base variant starting at Rs 27,999. The OnePlus Nord will be available in three colours, Gray Sierra, Blue Haze and Green-Wood. In India, open sales for the phone will start from July 28th, however, OnePlus will also be hosting an early access sale on July 26.
As we've mentioned before, OnePlus' latest upper mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 2, offers powerful specifications. To begin with, we have a big 6.43-inch display that works at a fixed resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. The display also offers a pixel density of 410ppi and offers an aspect ratio of 20:9. This is a FluidAMOLED panel that can handle refresh rates up to 90Hz. The phone's display also comes with profiles to cover sRGB and DCI-P3 colour space.
Under the hood, we have MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC with either 6GB, 8GB or 12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. This hardware is tasked to run a copy of Android 11 based Oxygen OS that shares the codebase with Oppo ColorOS. This hardware, on paper at least, looks good enough for gaming, multi-tasking and more. The Indian variant of the OnePlus Nord 2 is a 5G-ready device that supports a limited number of bands compared to the European variant.
Moving on to the camera department, we have a triple-lens set-up with a primary 50-megapixel lens that comes with support for optical image stabilisation. There's a secondary ultra-wide lens that is an 8-megapixel sensor and 119.7-degree field of view. The third lens in the set-up is a mono camera. The camera app offers support for features such as Nightscape Ultra, AI Photo Enhancement, UltraShot HDR and more. The phone also offers a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 lens for clicking selfies and front-facing videos.
The whole package is powered using a big 4500mAh battery pack which also supports Warp Charge 65T technology. Apart from this, the OnePlus Nord 2 weighs 189 grams and comes measuring at 158.9×73.2×8.25mm.
