The OnePlus Mini has been leaked and rumoured ever since company Co-Founder Carl Pei first mentioned it some months ago.

The soon to be launched OnePlus X Mini smartphone will reportedly run on the MediaTek X10 Helio SoC along with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. According to a report by gforgames, the device will also have a 5 inch IPS display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass ¾, 32GB of eMMC 5.0 memory, which will be expandable using a micro-SD card. It is expected to have a 3,100 mAh Li-Po battery and a USB Type-C port with Quick Charge 2.0 support.

Further, the OnePlus X Mini will apparently also be IP67 dust and water resistant and its front camera may make use of the 1080p at 480fps Super Slow Motion recording technology by MediaTek. The display will reportedly make use of the Panel Self Refresh technology as well. Gforgames also wrote that in order to compensate for the sub-par GPU performance of the MediaTek Helio X10 chipset, the OnePlus X will be able to render games at 720p.

Gforgames cited an anonymous source who sent the website a tip about the specifications of the device. The source apparently claimed to know details surrounding a OnePlus Mini prototype and wrote that the device will be priced at around $250 (approximately Rs. 17,000). It will be launched in November or December, the source claimed.

While the new specs are similar in terms of display, storage and RAM, earlier reports had said that the OnePlus X Mini will be running the Snapdragon 801 chipset from Qualcomm and will be available at a sub-20k price point. Going by OnePlus’ history, this is quite believable, since its flagship OnePlus 2 sells at Rs. 24,999.

OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei recently spoke to Digit, where he mentioned that the OnePlus 2 will remain the only flagship from the company this year. Pei also said that the much talked about invite system will continue since it is integral to the company’s entire strategy.
