When it comes to creating hype about a smartphone, OnePlus has been quite successful in the past, with both the OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2. As the launch date of the OnePlus 3 comes closer, the company wants you to review the phone before it launches. The company has put up a page where users can register for the phone. 30 people will be chosen out of all the registrations to review the phone. OnePlus says it wants the community to provide “fair and honest” feedback on the OnePlus 3.
People from all over the world can apply for the OnePlus 3. However, the registrations are not that simple, interested “reviewers” are required to describe why they should be selected in not less than 500 words. Also, even if you become one of the 30 lucky winners who get to review the phone before its launch, the company will hold the property rights for the phone. This means, OnePlus can take back the phone anytime at its own discretion.
Selected people will receive their OnePlus 3 review units between June 13 – 20. This implies, the phone could be launched after this event is over. That said, we have seen images of the phone leak multiple times in the past couple of months. As for the specifications, the device is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, may feature a 5-inch 1080p display and a 16MP rear camera. It is rumoured that the device will feature 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with at least 64Gb of internal storage.
OnePlus has already announced that the launch will take place in VR and one would be able to buy the phone in VR itself.
