OnePlus Open foldable phone’s price leak takes aim at Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 market

OnePlus' first foldable smartphone in the market, the OnePlus Open, might cost less than Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5, which launched recently in India. An known tipster, Yogesh Brar, suggests that the OnePlus Open's price could be between ₹1,10,000 and ₹1,20,000. If true (which remains to be seen), this would make it cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which costs ₹1,54,999.

Yogesh Brar also talks about OnePlus having a lot of smartphone launches for this year, from affordable options like the Nord CE 3 Lite to more expensive ones like the OnePlus 11 and of course the upcoming OnePlus Open.

OnePlus Foldable

Leaked pictures of the OnePlus Open show that it looks very much like the OPPO Find N3. The phone can fold like a book and has a circular camera module on the back, which is expected to hold Hasselblad camera technology. The front has a small punch-hole for the selfie camera.

Talking about the specifications, the OnePlus Open is said to have a big 7.8-inch display, along with that, there’s a smaller 6.3-inch outside or cover display. It might be powered by the strong chip from Qualcomm, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and have up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone might come with the latest OxygenOS 13.1 skin, which is based on the Android 13 operating system. 

OnePlus Foldable

Furthermore, the camera configurations could have a triple camera setup on the back, holding two 48-megapixel sensors along with a 64-megapixel primary camera. The two on the front could be a 32-megapixel sensor on the cover display and a 20-megapixel on foldable display.

Lastly, the OnePlus Open could be backed with a long lasting battery, which can charge up really fast, as in around 100-watt fast charging support. However you should take a note that all these details are based on rumors and leaks, so it's best to wait for the official announcement to know for sure.
