OnePlus recently announced that the OnePlus Two will be launched in VR, which is what you will need the OnePlus Cardboard for.

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is is launching the OnePlus Two smartphone in India on July 28. In addition, the company will sell the OnePlus Cardboard for Rs. 99 on Amazon India. The device, which is based on the Google Cardboard 2.0 platform, was announced last week alongside the fact that OnePlus will be launching its next device, the OnePlus Two, via a virtual reality based conference. OnePlus is also offering discounts up to 60% on select accessories for a limited time. The offers can be availed on Amazon India.

According to OnePlus, this VR accessory “meets all the norms” announced at the Google I/O this year. The company of course wants all its fans to buy this in order to watch the launch of its next smartphone. OnePlus also says that it has made some additions to the VR headset, which include a special coating that repels dirt and oil. The VR headset supposedly also works with most 6 inch devices, is 20% smaller and made of stronger and more durable material.

Further, OnePlus is also holding a giveaway of the OnePlus Cardboard headset. Registrations for the same are open till July 3. The company will announce the results of this giveaway on social media channels and will also contact the winners itself.

The much awaited OnePlus Two is expected at the end of the month and the device will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC along with a fingerprint sensor that the company says will be the fastest ever. It will also sport a USB Type-C port. You can read OnePlus' entire announcement here.
