The two new service packs include one for covering physical and liquid damage on the OnePlus 2 smartphone.
Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus today announced extended service packs for its OnePlus 2 smartphone. The device, which started selling in India a few months ago, cost Rs. 24,999 and comes with the regular one-year warranty. It is available on invites only and can be bought from Amazon.in.
The two new service packs for the OnePlus 2 will be called the B2X Service and B2X Protect packs for OnePlus 2, and allow the user to add extra insurance to their devices. The company issued a press release explaining the new service packs. According to OnePlus,
What is the B2X Service for OnePlus 2?
With every purchase of the OnePlus 2, customers are entitled to a manufacturer’s warranty for the device for upto a year from the date of purchase. This plan covers all defects that are covered under manufacturer’s warranty for another more year after the expiry of the original manufacturer’s warranty for the device. The cost of the service is ₹999 (including tax).
What is the B2X Protect for OnePlus 2?
The B2X Protect service covers accidental, physical & liquid damage to your OnePlus 2 device during the first year of the product purchase. The B2X Protect is priced at a consumer-friendly ₹1,299 ( including tax).
The company has explained the new packs in more details via a blog post that you can read here.
The OnePlus 2 was launched in India earlier this year, amongst much fanfare. Sadly though, OnePlus has run into some supply issues and users have been plagued by the invite-only system. While the company has arranged a bunch of promotions to facilitate the process of obtaining invites, complaints have still be heard over social media and otherwise.
At Rs. 24,999, the OnePlus 2 is a device that is hard to ignore. It doesn't have the 'flagship killer' qualities of its predecessor, the OnePlus One, but the phone is still amongst the best in the market right now.
