OnePlus 7 Pro was launched in May this year. Now, after six months, OnePlus 8 Pro rumours have started trickling down from the rumour mill. After the launch of OnePlus 7T, the company said that all the upcoming OnePlus phones will feature a 90Hz refresh rate so it was a given that OnePlus 8 lineup would feature a display with the high refresh rate. However, according to the latest development, OnePlus 8 Pro could take it to another level for OnePlus. The device is said to come with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The information comes from tipster Max J. He took to Twitter to post an image with the caption “Be a ‘pro’”. The Twitter audience thought he was referring to the 120Hz display on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S11. But he later confirmed that he was talking about a device from OnePlus.
If the information turns out to be true, OnePlus 8 Pro will be the first device from the company to feature a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For reference, ROG phone || is the only phone in the current scenario that supports a panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the company is unlikely to offer the feature with the regular variant, OnePlus 8.
According to earlier rumours, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro could launch in the second quarter of next year. The time coincides with the usual launch timeline of OnePlus phones. OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro were launched in May this year.
Moreover, early renders of the OnePlus 8 Pro have already leaked. The alleged renders showcase a key change in its design. The smartphone could come with a punch-hole display and quad rear camera setup.
OnePlus 8 Pro might sport a 6.65-inch display, which is slightly bigger than the 6.5-inch panel touted to be equipped on the OnePlus 8.
