OnePlus 6T rumoured to launch in a few months, concept design surfaces
If rumours are to be believed, the OnePlus 6T will release in November, like the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5T from previous years. It will sport a tiny triangular notch this time around.
It feels like the OnePlus 6 only just launched, and we’re already beginning to hear rumours of a OnePlus 6T coming soon. No, really; the OnePlus 6 launched only in May this year—and according to OALEXANDER, the Assistant Head Moderator of an Indian website called PiunikiaWeb—the OnePlus 6T will go on sale in the ‘coming months’. If this statement is to be believed, then it’s possible the OnePlus 6T will be launched in November, in the same way as the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5T from previous years.
To add fuel to the fire, a YouTube channel by the name Waqar Khan showcased a concept design of the OnePlus 6T. According to the concept, the OnePlus 6T’s design will be inspired by the OPPO R17. This is partly because OnePlus and OPPO R-series devices have known to share designs in the past. For all we know, this concept design could actually realise into the actual design of the upcoming OnePlus smartphone with the sole difference being two rear cameras instead of OPPO’s three.
According to Khan’s concept design, the back of the phone is curved. The position of the power button and the alert slider remains the same as that on the OnePlus 6. The volume rocker and the SIM card tray are found on the opposite side. The display now sports rounded corners and a much tinier triangular notch on the top. The fingerprint sensor is now under the display, à la Vivo X21. The phone has been showcased in black, red, and white colours.
Please note that OnePlus hasn’t officially released a statement that it is preparing to launch a new smartphone in November or that it will be called the OnePlus 6T. All these rumours must be consumed with a grain of salt. The current OnePlus flagship, the OnePlus 6, retails for a starting price of Rs 34,999. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, a 6.28-inch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 84 percent, and a 3,300mAh battery. RAM and storage options include 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.
