OnePlus 6 with under-display fingerprint sensor rumoured to launch in March 2018
It is rumoured that the smartphone will be powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 platform. No other specifications of the OnePlus 6 have been revealed.
It has barely been a month that OnePlus launched the OnePlus 5T and information has started circulating the internet about the OnePlus 6. If information circulating the internet is to be believed, then the OnePlus 6 will house the fingerprint sensor in the front below the display. To refresh your memory, OnePlus shifted to location of the fingerprint sensor to the back of the OnePlus 5T to accommodate the 18:9 display.
Other information circulating the internet about the OnePlus 6 suggests that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 platform. There is no other information available about the specifications of the OnePlus 6. We suspect it will retain the same design as the OnePlus 5T.
It looks like OnePlus isn’t the only one looking to implement an under-display fingerprint sensor. Samsung recently filed a patent for pressure-sensitive under-display fingerprint sensor. At MWC Shanghai 2017, Qualcomm announced that it has finally managed to put a working fingerprint scanner behind a normal OLED display. We got a chance to see the fingerprint sensor in action.
