OnePlus 6 might soon be unveiled, judging from the revelations made by the company regarding their upcoming device and the increased frequency of reports. Now, the company’s Twitter handle suggests some new features, which will “speed up your experience” on the OnePlus 6. The company posted a couple of videos in two separate tweets and as per the first one, the device will support gestures and the second video hints at the possibility of the phone’s alert slider being used for manually focusing the camera.
The shown gesture in the first video indicates that users might be able to boot an app by drawing an alphabet on the screen and swiping up. The OnePlus 6 is speculated to come with more gestures, which could be similar to the ones seen on the iPhone X, like one might be able to swipe up on the homescreen to access recent apps or the app drawer and swipe down for returning to the home screen. The second video is accompanied by a simple caption stating, “Slide to focus with the Alert Slider” and it could mean that one might be able to use it for physically focusing the camera. Standard function of the alert slider on OnePlus devices is to toggle and set between it’s ring, silent and do not disturb notification modes.

From what we know so far about the OnePlus 6, it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and come with 8GB RAM, for the first time, 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone will feature a notch on top of its display and come with a compatibility mode, which will allow users, who don’t favour the notch, to hide it when the device is in landscape orientation. As per the company, over 1000 top apps on the Play Store have been tested with the compatibility mode and it can be set for individual apps as well. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack on the smartphone.
Recently, a new report hinted that the company might launch a Bluetooth enabled version of its Bullets in-ear headphones alongside the OnePlus 6. The ‘OnePlus Bullets Wireless’ headphones has been spotted on the Bluetooth certification website with the model number BT31B and it’s registered to the smartphone manufacturer.
The official forum for the OnePlus 6 is also live now and Pete Lau, the company’s CEO has emphasised that smoother and faster user experience is the highlight of the upcoming OnePlus flagship. He said, “Fast is about ensuring there is less than a 1/1000 percent likelihood of your phone freezing, even under constant heavy use. To us, it’s about setting a higher standard. To create this higher standard, we start with the best hardware: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For other specs, rumours suggest that the mobile phone could come with a vertically stacked dual-rear camera setup. As per Evan Blass, the smartphone could feature a rear panel with a wooden finish, but it’s speculated that it might be a variant of the device. It is also expected to run on OxygenOS, based on Android Oreo.
