The OnePlus 6 will be up for sale at a temporarily discounted price for the first time since launch. This could be in anticipation of the OnePlus 6T.

The OnePlus 6T is just around the corner and if reports are to be believed, it might be made official in India on October 17. Before the company’s new flagship is announced, OnePlus is discounting the 64GB version of the current OnePlus 6 by a considerable amount. This is the first time the handset is receiving a temporary price cut in the country and instead of its original Rs 34,999, it will be available at Rs 29,999 during the Amazon Great Indian Festival, which is commencing on October 10. It’s not yet known whether other storage variants of the phone will be discounted or not.

Currently, the 64GB model of the OnePlus 6 is listed at the original launch price of Rs 34,999. The 128GB, and 256GB storage models of the device are priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 43,999 respectively. If one buys the handset right now, they will get to avail an additional Rs, 2,000 off on exchange, along with a free Sandstone Protective Case if they checkout only with the phone and the case. There is also a no-cost EMI option available on all major credit cards and Bajaj Finserv EMI card, along with a 12 month accidental damage insurance. There are also some more offers but we suggest to wait for the device to be discounted during the sale as there might be more/better offers then.

The OnePlus 6 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 6/8GB of RAM, depending on the variant you buy. It comes in the aforementioned 64GB,128GB and 256GB of storage models. The handset features a 6.28-inch FHD+ Full Optic AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, which has a notch on top. There is a 16MP + 20MP sensor on the main camera, while on the front sits a 16MP sensor. The smartphone comes in a 6GB/64GB model and an 8GB RAM version with 128GB and 256GB internal storage options. As mentioned earlier, the OnePlus 6T is expected to be announced soon. The company has already confirmed the presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor on the device, which is said to be the reason behind the removal of the 3.5mm audio jack from the upcoming phone. The company is calling the new unlocking mechanism Screen Unlock and the OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau has confirmed that it was a tough decision to remove the headphone jack but he says, "After you experience the Screen Unlock you'll fall in love with it, realize that it's the experience that you wanted."

The company recently teased the upcoming phone in a small 5 second video that hinted at the presence of an edge-to-edge display with thin bezels all around, except the bottom chin. A previously leaked image of the smartphone’s box suggests that it could be announced on October 17. The phone is rumoured to feature a ‘waterdrop’ notch display, same as the Oppo R17 Pro or the Vivo V11 Pro and when it comes to the display size, it could feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a 2340x1080p resolution. The device is expected to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is coupled with the Adreno 630 GPU.
