OnePlus is all set to launch its flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 5T in an event in New York today. The event is expected to start at 9:30PM IST and the company will be live streaming the event on its official website, YouTube and Facebook page. The new phone is expected to sport a new bezel-less design and a taller display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The company has been teasing the new smartphone for quite a while now. This, combined with various leaks (including an unboxing), has given us a pretty good idea of what to expect from the upcoming smartphone.

In terms of specifications, the OnePlus 5T is expected to feature a 6-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It will most likely be powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC, and should be available in two memory variants: one with 6GB RAM/64GB ROM and another with 8GB RAM/128GB ROM. Reports suggest that the price of the phone at launch may be the same as that of the OnePlus 5. So the two variants may be priced at Rs 32,999 and Rs 37,999 respectively.

Further, the fingerprint sensor is tipped to be moved to the back of the OnePlus 5T to accommodate the taller display. The smartphone is expected to retain the dual-rear camera setup. However, this time around, both the rear sensors could sport the same focal length and aperture. Its is tipped to feature 16MP+20MP sensors with 27mm focal length and f/1.7 aperture lens. Reports also suggest that the OnePlus 5T may ditch the optical zoom offered by its predecessor in favour of better low-light imaging capability. The front camera could sport a 16MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture lens. The company has confirmed that the OnePlus 5T will sport a 3.5mm audio jack and will not support wireless charging.

Rumours of a successor to the OnePlus 5 started popping up around mid-October. The new smartphone is being launched barely six months after the launch of the OnePlus 5. You can read our review of the OnePlus 5 here
