OnePlus has officially launched their latest smartphone, the OnePlus 5T alongside its kernel source. On inspecting the kernel, XDA Developers have reported that the smartphone may not exhibit the “Jelly Scrolling” effect. When the OnePlus 5 was launched, many users reported of observing a “Jelly Scrolling” effect, which displayed stretched out content while scrolling their twitter feed on a web page. Back then, XDA had reported that according to the smartphone’s kernel code, its display placement was upside down. This was said to be the reason behind the scrolling effect.
The newly launched OnePlus 5T sports a 6.01-inch Full HD+ Optic AMOLED display with an 18:9 display ratio. In terms of hardware, it is powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC and comes in two variants: one with 6GB RAM/64GB ROM and another with 8GB RAM/128GB ROM. The smartphone retains a dual rear camera setup with 16MP+20MP sensors with f/1.7 aperture lens and 27.22mm focal length. It comes with a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The OnePlus 5T runs on OxygenOS 4.7.1 layered atop Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The company has promised an Oreo update for it early next year and the Oreo beta update for the smartphone will be available in December this year. The device is powered by a 3300mAh battery and retains the 3.5mm audio jack.
The smartphone is priced at Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM model and the 8GB RAM variant will cost Rs 37,999. The device will be available for purchase Globally starting November 21.
