OnePlus 5 with 8GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 spotted on Geekbench
OnePlus 5 is rumoured to launch in two variants, one with 6GB RAM/64GB storage, and 8GB RAM/128GB storage
OnePlus 5, the next flagship smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker has once again been spotted on benchmark listings ahead of its official launch. A OnePlus device with the codename A5000 with 8GB RAM has appeared in GeekBench's benchmarking platform, which also confirms the presence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform clocked at 1.9GHz. The handset scored 1917 in single-core test and 6562 in multi-core test.
The listing further strengthens the rumours that the company is indeed planning a variant with 8GB RAM. Earlier in the day, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau showcased the design of the upcoming smartphone, revealing its horizontally placed dual-rear camera setup. The handset seems to feature a design similar to that of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, including the tweaked U-shaped antenna lines.
The smartphone will be officially unveiled for global markets on June 20 and will be launched in India on June 22. The smartphone will be exclusively available via Amazon and a recent leak suggests it will retail at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM, 64GB storage model and Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB RAM, 128GB storage variant.
