HIGHLIGHTS

The OnePlus 5 went out of stock in less than a day, but it's back on sale (on Amazon) on June 27.

Both variants of the OnePlus 5 smartphone have already gone out of stock on Amazon India. The device(s) were launched in India yesterday, at Rs. 32,999 for the 4/64GB variant and Rs. 37,999 for the 8/128GB variant. The OnePlus 5 will be back on sale June 27, on open sale. You can expect it to go out of stock on the same day again, so if you are indeed looking to buy the phone, preparations are in order.

Alternatively, OnePlus has scheduled pop-up events for New Delhi today, Bangalore and Chennai tomorrow and Hyderabad on June 25. So, you can buy the phone at these events as well. Pop-up stores are one-day-only stores that OnePlus will be hosting all over the country, where prospective buyers can get their hands on the OnePlus 5. We don’t yet have confirmation on whether these pop-up stores will continue…well…popping up throughout the year. The pop-up event in Delhi is already underway.

The OnePlus 5 was launched yesterday, amidst much fanfare and speculations. We reviewed the device recently, and found that it is impressive indeed, although the OnePlus 5 isn’t an out-and-out flagship killer by any margin. OnePlus has also had to deal with some bad press, thanks to its cosmetic similarities with the iPhone 7 Plus and for being caught cheating on benchmarks for the second time.
