The OnePlus 4 may also be fitted with a larger battery, and a new GPU.

The OnePlus 3 is one the best smartphones available today. It is a budget flagship, which can go head to head to with most flagship smartphones today. While the successor to the phone is still six to eight months away from launch, rumours have already started about the device. Rumours suggest the OnePlus 4 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 SoC. The Snapdragon 830 is currently still under testing and is expected to arrive in smartphones by next year only.

Previous reports on the SoC suggest that the SD830 will perform like desktop class processors, taking mobile performance to a new level. The processor may have an octa-core setup on Qualcomm’s custom Kryo cores. The new SoC is also expected to support 8GB of LPDDRX RAM and display resolutions of upto 4K. The Snapdragon 830 SoC may be made on the 10nm manufacturing process as well, which would make it even more resource efficient and less power hungry.

The latest rumor regarding the OnePlus 4 suggest that the SoC will be clocked at 3.0GHz, carrying the Adreno 620 GPU. It is reportedly going to feature a larger 4000mAh battery and is likely to run on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

In related news, OnePlus is rumoured to launch an upgraded variant of the OnePlus 3, called the OnePlus 3T. This device will reportedly feature 2K resolution and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC.
