OnePlus 3T to be available in India until later this year: OnePlus
Contrary to its forum post, OnePlus will continue to sell both 64GB and 128GB models of the OnePlus 3T in India, till later this year.
In a recent forum post, OnePlus announced that it is running out of OnePlus 3T devices and that only a few units of the smartphone are left in its warehouse. This led to multiple reports that the Chinese smartphone-maker is ending supply for the OnePlus 3T, discontinuing the model altogether; naturally, since OnePlus’ forum post read, “This is the last call to buy the OnePlus 3T before stock runs out. Only a few devices are left in our warehouse, so purchase yours before time runs out.”
However, we just received an official statement from the company, saying that the OnePlus 3T will continue to sell in India, at least till later this year. In an official email, OnePlus noted, “The OnePlus 3T (both 64GB and 128GB variants) will continue to be available for purchase in India until later this year. OnePlus products and accessories are available through all three official sales channels, including oneplusstore.in, Amazon.in and the OnePlus Experience Store in Bangalore.”
The OnePlus 3T, which was launched last November, is slated to be replaced by the OnePlus 5, which will be launching this summer. In our review of the OnePlus 3T, we noted that it is one of the best devices to buy if your budget is around 30-35k. It is also one of the most value for money smartphones available in the market today. The device features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 platform, a 16MP front facing camera for selfies, and a large 3400mAh battery.
The upcoming OnePlus 5, on the other hand, will be powered by a Qualcomm's newest Snapdragon 835 flagship platform. Rumours suggest that the phone will offer 8GB of RAM alongside 128GB storage on the higher variant, and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage on the base variant. The phone is also tipped to feature an upgraded 3600mAh battery. The biggest change however could be in the imaging department. OnePlus is expected to keep with trends and the OnePlus5 is rumored to sport a dual camera setup.
