OnePlus 3T features a design similar to the OnePlus 3 but offers better performance and battery life
OnePlus has announced the launch of OnePlus 3T, the updated version of OnePlus 3 in India. The company says OnePlus 3T should be seen as a new smartphone and not just a successor. OnePlus 3 was undoubtedly the best smartphone under Rs 30,000 and with OnePlus 3T, the company is delivering even better experience albeit at a price.
OnePlus 3T features a design similar to the OnePlus 3 with 5.5-inch optic AMOLED display. The smartphone is crafted out of single slab of premium space-grade aluminium alloy. The device is just 7.3mm thick and offers softer surves and sharper lines for comfortable hold. Sticking with the design, the company is offering the product in soft gold and gunmetal colour variant.
OnePlus 3T differs from OnePlus 3 in three key areas – performance, memory and battery life. OnePlus 3T is powered by Qualcomm's Snadpragon 821 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. The quad-core processor is clocked at 2.35GHz and only other devices powered by this processor are Google Pixel, Pixel XL and Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe.
OnePlus 3T comes with 6GB RAM but the company is now offering two storage variants with 64GB and 128GB internal memory. The smartphone features the same 16MP optically stabilised primary camera but the company has shielded the sensor with sapphire glass for superior protection. OnePlus 3T's main camera also offers electronic image stabilisation which company claims will help while shooting 4K videos. The main change in terms of camera is the use of new 16MP Samsung sensor with f/2.0 aperture, which should deliver better selfies in low-light.
The welcome change is the use of 13 percent bigger battery. The smartphone houses a 3400mAh battery and supports Dash charging, which charges the device to full in under one and a half hours. OnePlus has killed OnePlus 3 in the US and Europe but will continue to sell the device in India.
The OnePlus 3T is priced at Rs 29,999 for the 64GB variant and Rs 34,999 for the 128GB variant. The Gunmetal colour variant will be available on Amazon India from December 14 while the soft gold variant will be made available at a later stage.
