As per reports, the update is only being sent out to review units for now

OnePlus is reportedly rolling out an OTA update for the OnePlus 3 that addresses some of the questions being raised about the device with regards to the inaccuracy of the display and the RAM management. According to a report by Android Authority, the update has the version 3.1.4 and is only being sent out to review units. The update will enable sRGB mode which is accessible by going into Settings > Developer Options. This should tone down the colours that were displayed by the OnePlus 3. The update should also relax the RAM management system of the phone that  closed background apps even though it offers 6GB of RAM.

Adam Krisko,Community Manager for OnePlus posted a few photographs on the company's forum to show the difference users can expect with sRGB enabled. The phone on the left has sRGB mode enabled, with the one on the right uses the default setting.

A few days ago, it was OnePlus 3 users started complaining that the phone did not use the 6GB RAM effectively and was functioning more like a phone with 3GB to 4GB of RAM. OnePlus’ co-founder, Carl Pei later confirm that this was a conscious decision and was done in order to optimise the user experience. However, he also added that users were free to tweak the settings themselves. This wasn’t all though as Pei recently took to Reddit to defend his company’s choice of the display being used in the OnePlus 3. The company was accused of trying to cut corners with the phone in order to save costs. He said, “I'm sick and tired of sentiment like this. It may not seem so, but for a product company — it's insulting.” Pei added that the Optic AMOLED display of the OnePlus 3 was not tuned to sRGB and was never meant to be. He said that sRGB tuning was a niche requirement and wasn’t the right choice for a majority of users. However, Pei did say that OnePlus was adding the option to enable it in the next OTA update.
