The wait for this year’s OnePlus flagship is finally over!
According to a teaser image posted by OnePlus on China’s social network Weibo, the OnePlus 3 has been official slotted to launch on June 15 in China. The next OnePlus flagship will be unveiled at 10AM local time (7:30 am IST) at the Shenzhen Universiade Center. The event is supposed to take place in a virtual reality space station setup, for which OnePlus has already distributed 30,000 Loop VR headsets via Amazon, between June 3 and June 7. The OnePlus 3 launch is set to be the “world’s first global shopping experience in VR”, as users will be able to purchase the device in virtual reality, from June 16.
The OnePlus 3 is expected to launch with Snapdragon 820, with 4GB/6GB RAM variants housing 32GB and 64GB of internal storage respectively. A 5.5-inch Full HD display, 16MP rear and 8MP front cameras and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is expected to be the remaining constituents of the 7.3mm slim device. The USB-C port will be carried forward from the OnePlus 2, along with OnePlus' fast charging technology, “Dash charge”.
In case you would want to lay your hands on the device before launch, OnePlus' ‘Lab community review programme’ will let 30 people review the device with a “fair and honest” feedback on the OnePlus 3.
