OnePlus 2 is poised for a July 27 launch, and OnePlus has been revealing aspects about its next flagship over the past few weeks. First came the news that OnePlus 2 will be powered by an 'improved' Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, dubbed v2.1, and feature a USB Type-C port. Now, OnePlus has revealed that OnePlus 2 will have a fingerprint sensor, something that was seen in a leaked photo yesterday. Confirming the rumour, OnePlus has claimed that its fingerprint sensor will be faster than that of any device in the market today.
“With the OnePlus 2, the fingerprint sensor is done right. It’s refined and lightning quick, unlocking your device faster than TouchID. The average person checks their phone over 200 times per day. If you spend just three seconds inputting a PIN number or pattern, that’s over an hour of your time gone each week,” was the claim on a OnePlus forum blog post.
OnePlus stated that it did not include the fingerprint scanner on OnePlus One because it wasn't developed to perfection then. Now, it says, the fingerprint sensor is faster and more accurate than most phones in the market. It will support five fingerprint profiles, and one tap will open the phone's homepage. Although OnePlus hasn't confirmed it yet, the fingerprint sensor will probably be on the back, as seen in the leaked photographs.
