OnePlus is expected to drop its next flagship very soon. As usual, the Chinese brand will probably launch the OnePlus 13 in China first. Along with that, it is also expected to launch the OnePlus 13R, which will be an affordable variant of the OnePlus 13. In China, OnePlus launches the Ace series, which comes in India as R variants of its numbered flagship smartphones. According to leaks and rumours, OnePlus is working on a new Ace device, which means the OnePlus 13R is under development. Not only that but the key specifications of the OnePlus 13R were also leaked last week. In this article, I am going to tell you about all the major upgrades the OnePlus 13R can come with over the OnePlus 12R. Let’s go!

OnePlus 13R vs OnePlus 12R

First and foremost, the OnePlus 13R is rumoured to be launched with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Now, this is a surprise because the OnePlus R variants launch with a year-old chipset. For example, the OnePlus 12R launched this year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, whereas the latest chipset of this year is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This would be the biggest highlight of the OnePlus 13R.

Now, if that rumour is true, we can also see the OnePlus 13R go hard on AI. This is because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to come with capabilities to handle great AI processing. On the other hand, the OnePlus 12R doesn’t include many AI features.

Moreover, the OnePlus 13R is also rumoured to feature a 1.5K BOE X2 panel, which will be the top-end AMOLED panel. The OnePlus 12R is also packed with an LTPO AMOLED display made by BOE, but the BOE X2 will be a new and better panel.

For photography, the OnePlus 13R is rumoured to come with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary camera, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 telephoto camera, and one more lens, probably ultrawide. For those unaware, the OnePlus 12R is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.

And lastly, the battery can also see a major upgrade. A massive 6000mAh battery is rumoured to power the OnePlus 13R, whereas the OnePlus 12R was launched with a 5500mAh battery.
