OnePlus is all set to unveil its much-anticipated flagship smartphone next month. The OnePlus 13 will make its global debut in January 2025, and it will also arrive in India around the same time. The OnePlus 13 is expected to bring some significant upgrades over its predecessor. Let’s take a closer look at the key improvements we can expect from the OnePlus 13.

Enhanced performance

The OnePlus 13 is expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This new chipset has already shown a 40 percent increase in CPU performance, along with improved GPU and AI capabilities. Phones like the iQOO 13 and Realme GT 7 Pro, powered by this chipset, have scored over 2.5 million on AnTuTu, and the OnePlus 13 is likely to hit similar benchmarks. Furthermore, the upcoming OnePlus phone might run on OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15.

Design changes

While the OnePlus 13 will retain the design philosophy of its predecessor, there will be a few changes. The back of the phone is expected to feature a Vegan leather finish, with glass variants also available. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 might come with an IP69 rating, offering water and dust resistance.

Display

OnePlus may switch things up by ditching the curved display in favor of a flatter design. This trend has been gaining popularity in the smartphone industry. The OnePlus 13 will likely feature a high-resolution LTPO panel with a high refresh rate, and it will include an Aqua touch feature, allowing the screen to work even when wet.

Improved camera

The camera setup on the OnePlus 13 is expected to be similar to the OnePlus 12 but with some improvements. The phone could include an upgraded 50MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, as well as a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Hasselblad tuning will continue to play a role in enhancing the camera performance.

Bigger battery and faster charging

OnePlus is likely to equip the OnePlus 13 with a 6000mAh battery, an upgrade from the 5400mAh battery in the OnePlus 12. This, combined with the new chipset, should offer better battery efficiency. The charging speed will remain the same at 100W.

The India launch date for the OnePlus 13 is expected to be announced soon, so stay tuned for more updates.
