OnePlus has confirmed the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12. OnePlus will launch the high-end smartphone on December 4 in China. The Chinese brand announced the launch date on Weibo. Furthermore, OnePlus is also expected to launch the OnePlus Ace 3 along with the OnePlus 12. For those who don’t know, the OnePlus Ace models come as rebranded OnePlus R models in India.
Ahead of the launch, a lot of details about the OnePlus 12 have been revealed, some by rumours and some by the brand itself. Here are three expected upgrades of the OnePlus 12:
During the Snapdragon Summit 2023, OnePlus confirmed a few details of the display of its upcoming flagship smartphone. The company has showcased a new display that will come with a big upgrade. The OnePlus 12 will be equipped with an OLED display that has 2600 nits of peak brightness. This is just double the display brightness of its predecessor, the OnePlus 11. Furthermore, the OnePlus 12 will also feature 2,160Hz PWM dimming.

The OnePlus 12 is expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Both the major semiconductor brands, Qualcomm and MediaTek have rolled out their next-gen chipsets. However, the flagships of OnePlus use Qualcomm’s processor, so it won’t be any wonder if OnePlus uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in the OnePlus 12. Along with that, the OnePlus 12 is also rumoured to feature 12GB RAM for the base model. This could go all the way up to 24GB RAM for the top model.

In this segment, the OnePlus 12 is expected to get a good upgrade. OnePlus has confirmed a Sony LYTIA camera sensor in the upcoming smartphone. This will give the smartphone good picture quality and brightness. Another rumour surfaced on the internet recently, which claims a Periscope Telephoto sensor in the OnePlus 12. No wonder the OnePlus 12 could feature a Periscope Telephoto, as all the other competitors have featured or will feature the said sensor.
