Samsung’s flagship offering, the Samsung Galaxy S Ultra is considered one of the best smartphones in the segment. From display to camera, a lot of people vouch for it. But we are now hearing that the upcoming OnePlus 12 is going to have such a top-notch screen that it will even beat the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra on display brightness. Is that true? Let’s find out.

According to the chatter on the internet, the OnePlus 12, OnePlus’ flagship offering, could be out soon. Ahead of any official announcements by the company, leaks and tips have made their way to our newsroom too.

Recently, a leak shared by Digital Chat Station on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo revealed that the upcoming OnePlus 12 could beat the yet-to-be-launched Galaxy S24 Ultra on display brightness.

The leak further revealed that the OnePlus 12 will pack a 6.82-inch display which will offer a refresh rate of 120Hz. This will be larger than OnePlus 11’s 6.7-inch display. The smartphone could also come with a 2160Hz PWM dimming feature. This helps prevent straining your eyes. However, the highlight of the display is going to be the fact that it will reach a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits.

Now to understand this a little better, let me draw some comparisons for you. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could have a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, so it gets easily defeated there. Even Google’s recently launched Google Pixel 8 Pro offers a peak brightness of 2,400 nits. If we move from Android to iPhones, the newly released iPhone 15 Pro Max just offers a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. This means that if this leak does come true, then OnePlus will have the brightest display on the OnePlus 12.
